If you cross the Dyaji bridge from the Old City in Udaipur then wind around past the fancy hotels, there is a nice view back across the lake that is ideal for a late afternoon/sunset photo of the city. I took this panorama from there about a half-hour before sunset. It is interesting to note that because of the air quality in the region, the sun descends into the smog layer a good twenty minutes or more before it actually sets. If you time your shot for right at sunset, you will have missed the best light.
