We were tired from a long day of riding and shooting and tried to get a hotel room in Irrity, but the only venue was full on a Friday night and we were forced to continue on toward the coast. As luck would have it, we stumbled upon this ritual taking place at a Hindu temple in a small town outside of Kannur.
We were welcomed in and allowed to photograph freely, but learned very little about what was going on, not even the name of the ceremony. It was great photographic fun, even if we didn’t understand a bit of it.
